We are a London based Planning Consultancy with significant in-house expertise in submitting planning applications, obtaining permissions and prosecuting planning appeals, as well as enforcement and other planning work. The Practice was formed in 1995 by George Vasdekys with Myra Barnes joining as a Partner in 2005. Both Partners are Members of the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI).

George Vasdekys, BA (Hons) Dip TP MRTPI
George Vasdekys is a Partner at Salisbury Jones Planning, a practice he established in 1995.He has wide-ranging knowledge and understanding of the British planning system and extensive Public Inquiry experience. His particular experience and expertise is in Business, Residential, Healthcare and Road Related developments. He qualified as a Chartered Town Planner in 1978.
He had 14 years’ experience as a Planning Officer in Local Authorities including The Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead, South Bucks DC, and the London Boroughs of Hounslow, Croydon and Merton. He gained knowledge and experience at a senior level of the development control process, as well as managing staff and resources, having achieved the position of Deputy Group Leader of the Development Control Section at LB Merton.
He entered private practice in 1988, firstly as Senior Planner at Grant and Partners and subsequently as Associate Director heading the Planning Department of this multidisciplinary property practice. He was responsible for a team of professional planners and support staff handling major planning applications and appeals, environmental statements and a full range of Enquiries and Hearings.
Clients
Clients have included Healthcare Trusts, Local Authorities, Landowners, Manufacturers, Property and Development Companies etc. The scope of the projects dealt with have varied from participating in the preparation of Development Options for individual Hospital Trusts, Planning appraisals, obtaining planning permission for new buildings or extensions to existing buildings and offering general planning advice in relation to S106 Planning Obligations, Planning Conditions and Breaches of Planning Control.

Myra Barnes, BA Dip TP MRTPI
Myra Barnes is a Planning Consultant with extensive knowledge and understanding of the British planning system and in particular large redevelopment schemes. Her particular experience and expertise is in the regeneration of complex major brownfield projects for a mix of uses. However, she has also worked on a wide range of projects including residential, leisure, retail, employment and LNG importation terminal. She has also dealt with both English Heritage and Historic Scotland in considering the fate of listed buildings/structures and their potential re-use.
Clients
She has had 14 years experience as a Planning Officer in the Public Sector working for Local Authorities including Surrey County Council and the London Borough of Southwark followed by the London Docklands Development Corporation (LDDC). She gained experience in both the development plan and development control process, as well as working as Assistant to the Chief Executive at the LDDC, which entailed a wide ranging portfolio of work both planning and development related.
She joined the private sector in 1988 working for Olympia & York, initially on the redevelopment of Canary Wharf and then on other schemes, notably Heron Quays and Port East. Her role was that of giving planning advice on all aspects of Olympia & York’s work, in particular relating to the masterplanning and negotiation of the agreements with the Local Authorities, including design guidelines.
